The world mourns the sad passing away of Africa`s most loved father, Nelson .R. Mandela who passed away yesterday.

News reports over the past few weeks indicated the former South African President was beginning to show signs of recovery.

Mandela had suffered a recurrent lung infection sometime early this year. The infection later intensified resulting in him being hospitalized in June this year.

The man popularly known as tata in South Africa, developed the lung infection when he was still a prisoner at the Robnen Island, serving 18 years for his demonstrations and fight against apartheid in South Africa.

Nelson Mandela, South Africa`s first black president went in and out of hospital for several times and his health continued to deteriorate further till his death.

He remains Madiba, an iconic hero in South Africa`s liberation history, and to the rest of the world, for his love for humanity and liberation of mankind from oppression, he fought apartheid and empowered his people. He will always be remembered for fighting against the oppression of his fellow South Africans and liberating them from the gruesome white-men oppression.

Nelson Mandela was incarcerated on Robben Island for 18 years in prison for rising against apartheid. During this time, he contracted tuberculosis and received very poor treatment. He leaves behind a great family and legacy.
